Equipment and Facilities

Students using equipment in research lab

The College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Professions is equipped for chemical, biomedical, and pharmaceutical research through instrumentation owned by research groups, the Pharmaceutical Sciences Department, and the University.

Some of the major instrumentation in the department are listed below:

  • A shared cell culture facility containing four biological safety cabinets, CO2 incubators, inverted light microscopes, automated cell counter, and autoclaves
  • Inverted and upright fluorescence microscopes
  • HPLCs with UV, fluorescence, and electrochemical detectors
  • LC/MS/MS system
  • GC/MS system
  • UV-VIS spectrophotometers
  • Multi-mode microplate reader (absorbance and fluorescence)
  • ATR-FTIR
  • Luminometer
  • Equipment for gel electrophoresis and Western blot analysis
  • Refrigerated high speed centrifuge and ultracentrifuge
  • Particle size analyzer
  • High pressure homogenizer
  • Nanospray dryer
  • Extrusion system for liposome preparation
  • Small animal isofluorane anesthesia system
