Types of Aid

To be considered for federal student aid, students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. The Seven Easy Steps to the FAFSA provides an online tutorial to completing the FAFSA. The SDSU Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships is available to answer your FAFSA questions.

Although students may continue to complete the FAFSA throughout the school year, SDSU's priority date for submitting the FAFSA is March 1. Students who complete the FAFSA on or before this date will be considered for all financial aid programs including those with limited funding.

To be eligible for federal aid, students must be degree seeking. For federal loans, student must be enrolled in at least six credits as an undergrad or at least five credits as a graduate student.
