Transfer students who want to get an idea of which courses they’ve taken at another college or university will transfer to SDSU can use either one of the following tools to get started.
With this website, students can get a preliminary indication of how their credits will transfer to SDSU.
Please keep in mind that this is just a guide and won’t necessarily provide a complete picture. You’ll likely find several courses with the calculator, but don’t panic if you can’t find them all.
Download this form to get an even clearer picture of your transfer credits. Fill out the form completely and submit it, along with a copy of your transcripts, to the dean of the college of your intended major (addresses are listed on the form).
In about six weeks, you’ll receive a report from the dean indicating what courses might and might not transfer to SDSU.
Just a reminder: These tools provide an unofficial pre-evaluation of your transfer credits. If you decide to apply to SDSU, we’ll ask for final, official copies of all of your transcripts. At that point, we’ll perform an official evaluation to determine what SDSU can accept from your previous school(s).
If you are currently enrolled at SDSU, please direct your course equivalency questions to the transfer services coordinator.
Program to Program Transfer Agreements
To assist students in the transfer process, SDSU has partnered with technical institutes, community colleges and other universities to provide program-to-program articulation agreements. While we make every attempt to keep agreements current, it is possible that program requirements change and thus, these should be used as a guide. Once admitted to SDSU, an official evaluation of transfer credits will take place. Should you have any questions about a program articulation agreement or wish to create a new program articulation agreement with SDSU, please contact the Office of Academic Affairs at 605-688-4173 or by email.
