Application Availability and Deadlines

Nursing at SDSU is rewarding and fun. We offer a standard Bachelor of Science in Nursing, an accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing and an online RN to B.S.N designed to help registered nurses who have an associate's degree in nursing move ahead in their nursing career.

If you are interested in applying to one of our graduate nursing programs, which include the Master of Science in Nursing, Certificate Program, Doctor of Nursing Practice or Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing, visit our Department of Graduate Nursing.

Applications for the standard B.S.N. program for spring start (January) are due September 25 each year. Applications for the standard B.S.N. program for fall start (August) are due February 25 each year.

Please notes you consider application, if you are not currently an SDSU student, application is a two step process, you must:

  1. Apply to the university.
  2. Submit the College of Nursing application.

The accelerated B.S.N. program is designed for students who wish to obtain a B.S.N. in as little as 12 month. The program is offered in Aberdeen, Rapid City and Sioux Falls. The application to the program in Aberdeen and Rapid City is available on NursingCAS around February 1 each year. The deadline is April 1. The application to the program in Sioux Falls is available on NursingCAS by early August each year. The priority deadline for the Sioux Fall site is January 25, but applications will be considered on a rolling basis after January 25 with a final deadline of May 25. Be sure to review the accelerated B.S.N. program requirements before applying, if you haven't already.

If you are not currently an SDSU student, application is a TWO STEP process:

  1. Apply to the university.
  2. Submit the College of Nursing application via NursingCAS online application service.

We are currently accepting applications for the online RN to B.S.N. program. Be sure to review the RN to B.S.N. program requirements and application deadlines before applying, if you haven't already.
