Summer 2018 Camp in Brookings
Dreaming of a career in health care?
If you’re interested in a career that will give you the chance to help others, consider working in a health-related field! You can explore the wide-array of opportunities available in this field at SDSU’s Health Professions Career Camp. Students will be able to interact with health care professionals and participate in a variety of activities, such as:
- Hands-on demonstrations in many areas including nursing, pharmacy, pre-professional, human nutrition, exercise science, biology, microbiology, medical laboratory science, cadaver lab, and more.
- Tours of local health care facilities and specialty clinics.
Question and answer sessions with a range of healthcare professionals.
Space is limited to 50 high school students and spaces will be filled on a first-come, first served basis. The camp is best suited for students who will be entering their Junior or Senior year of high school after attending the camp. Tuition is $100 and includes meals, lodging (at one of the SDSU residence halls), and educational and recreational activities.
Sponsored by Avera McKennan Hospital and University Health Center, Health Professions Career Camp is supported and organized by the College of Nursing, the College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Professions, and the Department of Biology/Microbiology.
