Clinical Faculty and Teaching Assistant Dress Code and Appearance

Purpose: To describe the expectations for faculty and temporary clinical teaching assistant dress code and appearance in the clinical setting.

Description: While there is no prescribed uniform for faculty and temporary clinical teaching assistant in the clinical setting, the expectation is that these individuals will comply with the Nursing Student Uniform and Appearance Policy requirements available at Policy U#3166: Nursing Student Uniform and Appearance.

The following guidelines are to be followed by faculty and temporary clinical teaching assistant in the clinical setting:

  • Adhere to the uniform/appearance requirements of the specific agencies
  • When possible, select different colored scrubs than those worn by staff nurses in the setting
  • Wear name badge provided by the College of Nursing
