Young musicians invited to summer music camps at SDSU

The South Dakota State University School of Performing Arts will conduct two music camps this summer to help school-aged string players and band members hone their musical skills.

The All-State Music Camp for Young Band Members will take place June 12-16. The camp will be led by Camelot Intermediate School Director Mary Cogswell with the assistance of SDSU music staff. This day camp is for young band members who have completed either one or two years of band instruction. 

The All-State String Camp will take place June 20-23 in the mornings. The camp is open to any string player who has completed one, two or three years of study. 

All classes, rehearsals and performances for these camps will be held in the Oscar Larson Performing Arts Center on the SDSU campus.

Both camps will culminate in a concert open to friends and family.
