Hi! My name is Saniia. I was born and raised in Kyrgyzstan. I completed my bachelor’s degree in pharmacy at Kyrgyz State Medical Academy in 2013.
This is my first semester in SDSU as a master’s student in the pharmaceutical science department. I am very excited to be here. It’s a great opportunity for me to broaden my horizons in the pharmacy field.
SDSU was my first-choice university because of the program. I am curious about drug discovery and drug development, and the program fits perfectly with my future career goals.
My project on drug delivery systems will start next semester. I chose this area of research because the design of new drug delivery systems is dictated by patient needs, and I would like to contribute to the development of this area of research.
The first semester is quite challenging for me mainly because everything is new for me in the USA. The format of teaching and exams are totally different, but I like that professors are mostly focused on development of critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
I am very curious about what I am doing, and I realize that every day I learn something new for me, so that’s a reason why I am here.
The department of pharmaceutical science brought together the best specialists. Furthermore, our professors are willing to help and support every student.
Everything in our life happens for some reason. As a 5-year-old kid, I dreamt about being helpful for people and doing something valuable in my life. Today I am here, and thanks to SDSU for believing in me and giving me this opportunity!
