Baye honored by Sanford

Jordan Baye

Jordan Baye, an assistant professor at South Dakota State University, received the Sanford Clinic Hero Award from the health organization for its third quarter.

Baye, who teaches in the Department of Pharmacy Practice as well as being a clinical pharmacist at Sanford Health in Sioux Falls, was cited for his good deed for a patient who had a malfunctioning electric wheelchair while at the clinic.

A colleague wrote that the patient was waiting for a response from the medical equipment store. As clinic personnel were pushing the patient to where he needed to go, Baye researched how to fix the chair and was able to make it operational again.

“This likely saved a trip to the medical equipment store, and it was able to be fixed prior to them leaving the building. To those who know Jordan, this was no surprise. Jordan consistently demonstrates true caring for individuals and is always willing to lend a hand to serve those around him,” according to his nominator.

The Hero Award highlights employees who go above and beyond in each of the Sanford values of calling, courage, family, community, service, resolve and advancement.

Baye has been with the college since 2018 and works in the Sanford Imagenetics and internal medicine labs.
