SDSU placed among the top programs in the following areas:

No. 1 Best Online Phlebotomy Classes and Certifications

No. 15 Best Online Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Programs

No. 32 Best Online Nurse Practitioner Programs

No. 41 Best Online Nursing Programs

“As we look to the future of health care and its growing demands from society at large, it is paramount that those who are interested in medical careers can find the best opportunities to get the necessary education to kick start their dreams—and South Dakota State University offers just that,” said Wes Harris, outreach coordinator at EduMed.

Three of the programs ranked are part of the College of Nursing, with the other part of the College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Professions.

“This award is affirmation of the great work that was done by those who got this relatively new program off the ground,” said Dan Hansen, dean of the College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Professions. “They recognized the workforce need, worked with our clinical partners to develop a solution, and the result is a program that is able to meet the needs of students here on campus and across the region.”

“These recognitions validate the excellence of our teams as we have advanced accessible programming of our RN to BSN and graduate programs to online delivery. We are proud of the ways we engage with students through technology and educational partnerships,” said Mary Anne Krogh, dean of the College of Nursing.

To rank these programs, EduMed requires that schools have institutional accreditation recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and offer at least one program in the subject area partially or fully online.

Schools are then weighted based on factors such as online program availability, cost, academic counseling and career placement.
