Prairie Repertory Theatre closes its 50th season with next week’s showings of the award-winning musical, “Little Shop of Horrors,” by Howard Ashman. The productions will be in person June 30 – July 2 at 7:30 p.m. and July 3 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. in the Oscar Larson Theatre in the Oscar Larson Performing Arts Center. Starting for this show, attendees can purchase tickets 90 minutes prior to each performance at the box office.
Featuring show stopping numbers, an unforgettable company and a lot of energy and color, “Little Shop of Horrors” explores love, fame, big dreams and what it truly means to be successful. After discovering a plant from outer space, things suddenly take a turn for florist Seymour Krelborn. However, as pressure builds to care for the increasingly famous plant, things quickly get out of hand. Audiences will find themselves asking, do the ends justify the means?
“I’m excited to return and join this year’s company,” said Rebecca Bailey ’12, who now lives in Russell, Kentucky. “I invite everyone to come experience the magic and laughter that this show offers. It features songs that will get stuck in your head, characters that are full of heart and situations that will keep you laughing.”
