Fifty four solar panels were installed on the Facilities & Services roof in early June. The 20.25 kW array covers approximately 18% of the total building energy usage.
This is the third solar panel array erected on campus for energy generation since 2018. A 7.4 kW array was added to the American Indian Student Center earlier this spring. SDSU's largest array sits on top of the Stanley J. Marshall Center. The 52.2 kW array was the winner of the 2019 Brookings Mayor's Sustainability Award in the Environmental Resilience category.
Daktronics Engineering Hall added solar arrays in 2011. Those are mainly used for research.
