South Dakota State University’s 2019 commencement ceremonies were held May 4 in Frost Arena. This marked the sixth-straight year the university streamed the event to allow graduates’ friends and family who were unable to attend the ceremonies experience the day.
The 10 a.m. undergraduate ceremony included students from the College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences, Jerome J. Lohr College of Engineering, the College of Natural Sciences and College of Nursing. There were 965 total views, including 142 peak concurrent viewers that day.
The 2 p.m. ceremony was the day’s second undergraduate ceremony. It included students from the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, College of Education and Human Sciences and the College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Professions. There were 521 viewers with 82 peak concurrent viewers.
The graduate ceremony, which included master’s, professional and doctoral students, had 626 total views and 101 peak concurrent viewers.
The average viewing session was 12 and 14 minutes for the undergraduate ceremonies, and 12 minutes for the graduate ceremony.
In addition to the United States, residents of Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka and India were the top viewers for the three streams.
