Move-In Weekend begins Aug. 17

Volunteers help first-year students move into their residence hall during Move-In Weekend.

South Dakota State University welcomes Jackrabbits near and far to campus for Move-In Weekend, starting at 8 a.m. Aug. 17.

New and returning members of the SDState family will get settled in their new residence halls and more familiar with campus.

Hundreds of Meet State volunteers will help first-year students with move their belongings and ensure they have everything they need to make a great start at SDState.

To reduce traffic on-campus, arrival times have been assigned to the new students. Fourth-floor residents should arrive between 8 and 10 a.m., third-floor residents between 10 a.m. and noon, second-floor residents between 12:30 and 2 p.m., and first-floor residents between 2 and 3:30 p.m.

The university will hold multiple events, which include a welcome picnic, Convocation, C2F2 Campus and Community Fall Festival, a Student Engagement Expo and residence hall meetings, where students can get to know their community assistant and other residents in the building.

Classes start Aug. 20.
