South Dakota State’s PSAC honors four individuals

South Dakota State University’s Professional Staff Advisory Council announced the following awards at its annual meeting held recently at the SDSU Alumni Association’s Woster Celebration Hall.

The Professional Staff Advisory Council gave awards for:

  • Excellence in Scholarly Activity: Simon Newkirk, a postdoctoral research associate in the College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Professions;
  • Excellence in Professional Role: Tracey Erickson, an SDSU Extension dairy field specialist;
  • Excellence in Engagement and Learning: Hanna Holmquist, adviser for the Van D. and Barbara B. Fishback Honors College; and
  • Rising Star Award: Matt Diischer, residence hall director for Honors and Mathews halls.

The awards are intended to celebrate performance, leadership and service by members of the professional staff. The awards highlight the broad range of roles in which professional staff employees have an opportunity to perform within their unit, college, university and outside of South Dakota State.
