South Dakota State honors newest endowment holders
South Dakota State University recently paid tribute to the university’s newest endowment holders. The third annual University Leadership Honors investiture ceremony — honoring six holders of endowed positions across three different colleges and SDSU Athletics — was held Sept. 19 in Founders Recital Hall in the Oscar Larson Performing Arts Center.
Experiencing SDSU in Sioux Falls
From NASA rovers and jumping challenges to medieval weapons and a virtual reality exploration of the ocean, South Dakota State University Day at the Washington Pavilion gave students and visitors a taste of what SDSU has to offer. More than a dozen academic programs took over the Washington Pavilion in Sioux Falls Sept. 20-21 to showcase the many different opportunities at SDSU in a first-of-its-kind event.

South Dakota Corn Utilization Council commits $1.2 million for SDSU Swine Education and Research Facility
The South Dakota Corn Utilization Council is pleased to announce that it has committed $1.2 million toward an expansion of the Swine Education and Research Facility at South Dakota State University. The grant will fund the addition of two new wean-to-finish nutrition rooms to the existing complex and double the facility’s research capabilities.

Bison specialists from across the United States and Canada gathered in Brookings recently for the second International Bison Health Symposium, attended by nearly 140 producers, veterinarians, tribal leaders, government officials, researchers and zoo managers.
Nold receives national teaching fellow honor from animal science peers
Rosemarie Nold, professor and assistant head of the Department of Animal Science at South Dakota State University, has been named an American Society of Animal Science Teaching Fellow. She received the honor at July’s American Society of Animal Science annual meeting in Calgary, Alberta.
SDSU schedules horse sale
The Equine Teaching Facility and Department of Animal Science at South Dakota State University will sell four yearling colts this summer, accepting sealed bids that are due by 5 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13.
