Thankful & Grateful this Thanksgiving

Thankful & Grateful

It's the toughest time of the semester; your final projects have probably already begun, tests seem to be popping up out of thin air and your workload might feel never-ending. This short week before the fact-paced race to the semester's end is the perfect time to catch a break, spend time with family and friends and reflect on what you're thankful for!

Here are our top 5 ways to be thankful and enjoy your time before finals!

Show your appreciation

Whether it's your family, friends or academic support on campus, showing them your thankful for their help and company can help brighten everyone’s spirits! The holidays can bring the best and worst out of people - you can take this time to embrace the good and show you care about others! By writing a short note about why you appreciate someone, sending them a heart-filled text or even surprising a friend with coffee, you can make someone feel special and appreciated this holiday season!

Take time for YOU

Being thankful starts with a warm heart - make sure YOU are doing well throughout the season of holidays and finals! Maybe you need a day off of homework and studying or just a little self care. Whatever makes you feel good about yourself, do it! By rejuvenating and recharging, you can be more prepared for the toughness of the season and keep yourself in high spirits. Not to mention, when taking time to yourself, you can plan ahead and stay on top of your work if that’s what you're into!

Reflect on your progress

You’ve come a long way since the start of the fall semester! There have been some good times and surely some bad ones; reflecting on how far you’ve come can really put your progress into focus. Think about what turned out to be successful for you, what could you improve on and what goals you can accomplish before the semester ends. You could journal about your progress or just take mental note of what you enjoy about the past few months. No matter your methods, thinking about how far you’ve come will make you proud of your progress!

Surround yourself with positivity

A great way to get through the stress of finals is to keep a positive attitude. It can be so easy to get caught up in stress or negative thoughts about a class project or recent test you took. Surrounding yourself with positive thoughts and people can keep your spirit high as you enter the final weeks of the semester. Maybe it’s spending a little extra time with family or writing positive thoughts on sticky notes for your mirror. Remember to stay positive and look at all the good that’s surrounding your situation to keep a warm heart and embrace a thankful attitude!

Focus on the finish line

Maybe the end of the semester seems like it’s dragging on or flying by - no matter your case, keeping your priorities focused can help a ton! Make an organized list of all the tasks you have left to get done and make sure you know when your finals are. Preparing these little things and staying organized can take some pressure off of you when finals week comes and can help you stay on top of your homework or studying. After all, you’ve almost reached the finish line; you can power through these final few weeks and end up on top!
