#1 Placement Info and Testing

English, math and reading placement for South Dakota State University courses is determined by ACT/SAT scores or a combination of ACT/SAT and high school GPA.

The biggest part of NSO is all about course registration so it is important to look at your catalog to understand which courses are required for your major. Use the undergraduate catalog and major guide sheets to help with this pre-planning process.

#3 Bringing Credits Into SDSU

If you earned post-secondary credits while in high school you much submit a final, official transcript and/or standardized test scores to carry those credits into SDSU.

Orientation staff needs to have accurate and up-to-date information in your file, so be sure to notify SDSU NSO of any changes in your contact information, major, or registration date.
