$25,000 Innovation Award from Wilbur-Ellis

Wilbur-Ellis marked its 100th anniversary in 2021 by launching the “Wilbur-Ellis Innovation Award.” Now in its second year, the 2023 Innovation Award invites student teams from colleges and universities in the U.S. and Canada to propose new and better approaches for providing food for more people – a critical imperative, since the world population is expected to increase by 2 billion people by 2050.

There is a $25,000 top prize, and up to four teams may receive $5,000 honorable mentions.

CNS Student Ambassador Program

The College of Natural Sciences Student Ambassadors represent a variety of majors in Biology, Chemistry, Geography and Physics! They assist with recruitment events including Senior Day, Junior Day and middle school academic career fairs. They're also active in local communities through outreach events including One Day for State, Hobo Day, Washington Pavilion events and K-12 science classroom visits. This is a paid position and applications for the Fall 2023 - Spring 2024 school year will open in August!

The Oak Ridge National Laboratory Advanced Short-Term Research Opportunity Program is a highly selective program offering challenging short-term research opportunities to current graduate students in Master’s or Doctoral degree programs or those holding recent Master’s degrees. ASTRO participants conduct research in areas that support ORNL missions in the basic and applied sciences, energy and environment. Appointments are available in all current research and development programs at the Laboratory.
