The Schmulbach Scholarship was established to honor the late Dr. James C. Schmulbach, a former University of South Dakota professor whose enthusiasm for Missouri River fisheries knew no bounds. Any undergraduate student of junior or senior standing may apply for this scholarship. Applications include a 200-word (or less) essay describing the student's interest in fisheries science and their career goals, a résumé, a letter of reference from a fisheries professional, and a copy of the student's college transcripts. The winner will be selected by the president of the Dakota Chapter of AFS, and the monetary award will be decided upon by the Governing Board of the Dakota Chapter. Applications are due by January 1 every year. Click here for more information.
