
STRIVE is a sports performance training that provides the environment for athletes to achieve their goals through education, commitment, and discipline. Our programs are specific to the individual, while training in a team setting.
STRIVE is for students in Grades 6 through 12.
Why STRIVE?
The Miller Wellness Center believes it's crucial to maximize an athlete's sport abilities. We target areas for improvement and work with the athletes to reach the next level of their athletic potential.
STRIVE provides the environment for athletes to achieve their goals through education, commitment, and discipline. Our programs are specific to the individual, while training in a team setting.
STRIVE for: endurance, speed, stability, and strength. Balance, explosiveness, flexibility, and injury prevention. Mental preparedness and core strengthening. Decrease overall body composition.
In addition to individualized STRIVE training, athletes will also receive additional services:
Registered Dietitian
STRIVE provides athletes nutritional information. Our Registered Dietitian is a former SDSU athlete and understands the demands of the body and how best to fuel it.
Wellness Center Membership
Athletes will have full access to the Wellness Center during STRIVE. Access includes the track, weights, courts, pool, and group fitness classes.
Sessions
- Session 1: June 2 - June 25
Meets every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
Athletes must Register for either morning or evening time slots:
- 6 a.m. to 7 a.m.
- 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
- Session 2: July 12 - July 23
Meets everyday, Monday through Friday
Athletes must Register for either morning or evening time slots:

Anne is a second-year graduate student studying Sport and Recreation Administration and the Member Services Graduate Assistant. Prior to SDSU, she attended and played softball at Northern State University. As a former collegiate athlete, Anne has the experience and knowledge to tailor programs to meet the needs of any athlete.

Trainer: Morgyn Felty
Morgyn is a second-year graduate student in the Sport and Recreation Administration Program at South Dakota State University and the Fitness and Aquatics Graduate Assistant at the Miller Wellness Center. Among her involvement with the aquatic's programs on campus, she is a certified Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor, teaching and training several times a week. Morgyn loves working with the youth programs and can't wait to start working with everyone!
