The pendulum is released form a specific height and hits the V-notched specimen, breaking it in half. The pendulum can be latched in two separate locations known as “high latch” and “low latch”. Since the developed energy is a function of the height from which the pendulum is released, each hammer has dual capacities, one from the high latch and another from the low latch. Both positions comply with the velocity range of ASTM E23. METLAB uses this machine for both research and testing for our clients. Contact us to discuss your project by email or phone: 605-688-4300
