Native Americans have fantastic opportunities within the Jerome J. Lohr College of Engineering (JJL COE). They can explore their passion for creativity and innovation, while improving lives on and off reservations.
South Dakota State University is in a unique period of unprecedented expansion with special efforts to recruit and retain Native American students. The JJL COE works with multiple resources on campus to improve Native American student experiences especially in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). Students who pursue engineering degrees have the potential to help build self-reliant tribal nations or to be successful anywhere in the world. They may become role models for future students and have impacts far beyond their dreams.
