Larry Leigh, MS, imaging engineer

Larry Leigh started as a graduate student in the SDSU Image Processing Lab in 1999. He went on to become a full-time researcher in 2003, and now he is the Assistant Director of the Lab. Leigh has a number of research interests:

  1. Vicarious Calibration of Orbital Imaging platforms via field work and atmospheric measurement at the time of overpass
  2. Atmospheric Compensation of satellite based measurements to correct for the optical distortions caused by viewing the surface of the Earth from space
  3. Global processing of the world, using cloud computing platforms, such as Google Earth Engine, to develop new and novel global scale calibration techniques
  4. UAV and Satellite applications that support precision agriculture
