Building/Door Access Plan

The SDSU travel and transportation guidelines are grounded in the SDSU Guiding Principles for Return to Campus and SDSU COVID-19 Protocols.

  1. Campus COVID-19 Status: Yellow\Orange
    1. Facilities and Services will be responsible for the following:
      1. Unlock all buildings beginning at 6:00am Monday – Friday
      2. Lock all buildings at 10:00pm Monday – Thursday
    2. UPD will begin locking all buildings at 6:00pm on Friday
    3. There are some administrative buildings with door access systems that lock and unlock before and after regular business hours.
    4. Card access will be required for access to buildings outside of these hours and must be approved by the departmental requestor who is assigned by the Vice President or Dean.
    5. A single standard access plan will be used for each department to grant employees and graduate students 24/7 access to their home building.
      1. Changes to access will be submitted & approved by the departmental requestor
      2. The Card Services Office will manage access changes within the Transact Platform.
    6. Requests for additional access plans by a department will need to be submitted and approved by the associated VP or dean.

    7. Reports of entrance activity can be generated upon request by a Vice President or Dean to the Card Services Office.
    8. If any issues arise on campus, we may revert to locking all campus buildings and card access will be required.
    9. Individuals are required to follow the current university and SDBOR face covering protocol.
  2. Campus COVID-19 Status: Red
    1. Place all campus buildings into a secured status 24/7.
    2. Facilities and Services and UPD work together to lock all building by 5:00 pm on day campus moves to Red Phase.
    3. Card access will be required for access to all buildings and must be approved by the departmental requestor who is assigned by the Vice President or Dean.
    4. The single standard access plan, developed for Yellow\Orange Status, will be used for each department to grant employees and graduate students 24/7 access to their home building.
      1. Plans developed under Yellow\Orange will be implemented for access
      2. Changes to access will be submitted & approved by the departmental requestor
      3. The Card Services Office will manage access changes within the Transact Platform.

    1. Recommend following the associated building access plan dependent upon current Campus COVID-19 Status.
