  • A 24-hour information, referral and crisis helpline that provides resource information covering topics such as food, clothing, financial, medical, mental health, shelter, volunteer opportunities and much more.
Jack’s Cupboard
  • Jack's Cupboard combats food insecurity by ensuring those students who struggle financially to purchase food are provided this free resource supported by students, faculty and staff.
  • It is available to all students with a student ID and a bag to collect food items (although Jack's Cupboard can supply students with a bag, if needed).

Emergency Relief Fund for Immigrants in South Dakota

This fund provides direct, short-term financial assistance to immigrant, refugee or undocumented individuals, families, households and frontline workers directly impacted by COVID-19, who have minimal access to or do not qualify for state and federal support (such as stimulus funding under the CARES Act or unemployment benefits) and meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • Those who do not have a Social Security number.
  • Individual taxpayer identification number and visa workers displaced due to COVID-19.
  • At-risk individuals (e.g., people over 60 years old, those with chronic illness/are immunocompromised), or families that have an at-risk member.
  • People who are unhoused or have been forced out of stable housing.
  • Homes with children and youth who depend on adults that are undocumented, Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals recipients, on U-visas, are in deportation proceedings or some other immigration status limbo.

Feeding South Dakota

Feeding South Dakota

  • Feeding South Dakota is a hunger relief organization fighting daily to eliminate hunger in this state.
  • Every single week, Feeding South Dakota assists in providing temporary food assistance to approximately 21,000 hungry individuals and families in the state, and the BackPack Program gives food every weekend to over 5,500 kids who otherwise might go hungry.
