University Computers & Printing

No computer? No problem.

General access computers are located in the University Student Union (Kiosks next to the Bookstore)

Plus, we offer laptop check-out stations for use in the Hilton M. Briggs Library and the University Student Union. These laptops and the computers in the Union come with Microsoft Office 365 and Windows 10.

Loaner Devices

The Library and Information Exchange in the Union offer loaner computers to be checked out.

The Support Desk also offers loaner computers. If you need a loaner computer for an extended period of time, or while we repair your computer in our office, you can fill out the SUPPORT DESK LOANER DEVICE CHECK OUT FORM, and we will email you once it is ready for you to pick up. We ask that you return the loaner device before the end of the school year that you get the device.

Web Print

Class is in 20 minutes, and you just realized your printer is out of ink—no need to panic. SDSU offers Web Print services for all students in any of the general use of computer labs. It is affordable—only 5 cents for a black and white page and 15 cents for a color page. Front and back printing is available in some locations, as well.

Because Web Print uses Hobo Dough cards, you won't need to worry about buying ink cartridges, paper, or printer jams. You can print from labs to Web Print printers or, in some residence halls, print from your computer to printers in the building. For instructions on installing printer files, visit MyState Portal. Having problems printing? Contact the SDSU Support Desk.

Can I print using the student-facing printers?

Yes. The mobile print release allows for touchless printing directly from your cell phone. Here's what you need to do.

Make sure your phone is connected to either SDSUStudent or SDSUFacStaff wireless. Download a QR Code reader if your camera on your phone does not read them. Print a job to one of the security queues. Just like you always have with Web Print. Go to the printer you printed to. Open your camera or your QR code reader.

Having issues getting it to print?

Files can be emailed to Printing Services, or you can use Box.

If using Box, please include Scott Westphal and Doug Odegaard, as they will be doing the "preflight checks" on submitted files.
