Jackrabbit Gallery Call for Art: "Blue and Yellow"

The Jackrabbit Gallery hanging system uses cables and hooks.
The Jackrabbit Gallery hanging system uses cables and hooks. Wire across the back of art pieces works well for displaying purposes.

The Hilton M. Briggs Library is hosting its annual Jackrabbit Gallery Art Show in spring 2024 featuring the theme “Blue and Yellow.” Located on the lower level of the library, the Jackrabbit Gallery was made possible by a gift from Doug and Sandy Oleson.

Briggs Library invites SDSU students, faculty, staff and alumni to submit original artwork related to the theme for display in the show. Physical media formats may be submitted, including painting, photography, screen printing, graphic design, drawing, fiber and written word, as some examples. Artists may submit up to three works. Work should be no smaller than 8 inches x 8 inches, no heavier than 15 pounds, and able to hang from a hook on a cable (see image). Plexiglas is preferred for framed work.

  • Artists should send a single email with all submission information. The email subject line should be “Jackrabbit Gallery Show 2024.”
  • One digital image per artwork may be submitted. JPG or PDF files are accepted. Images should be labeled as follows: FirstNameLastName.ArtworkTitle.jpg (or pdf). Example: HiltonBriggs.RabbitsOnThePrairie.jpg.
