Graduate Student Recognition Event

Recognition event for those students who successfully met the requirements of the Professional Development Program and for graduate student award winners for the 2017-18 academic year. Recipients will be recognized and presented a certificate. Light appetizers and refreshments will be served. Event is open to all graduate students!

Students have until Tuesday, April 10th to complete the Professional Development certificate. Please contact the Graduate School will any questions!


Future graduates (Summer 2018 and Fall 2018) who are interested in participating in the Spring 2018 commencement ceremony should complete the Request to Participate form no later than Friday, April 6th. Students requesting to participate must have advisor approval and an approved plan of study and committee request form on file. Comprehensive exams must also be completed for doctoral candidates. Any student submitting a late request to participate form will NOT have their name appear in the commencement program.

Students who have already graduated and those who will be graduating during the Spring 2018 semester should have received an email from the Registrar’s Office with an RSVP link and diploma information. These students should NOT complete the request to participate form.


2018 IDS Summer Academies – Instructional Design Services will host the 2018 Summer Academies. The academies are designed to help SDState faculty, staff and graduate teaching assistants develop comprehensive technology skills and competencies in the established SDState Active Learning Cloud environment. The sessions will help meet the challenges of using miscellaneous SDState-supported Cloud services and technology applications.

The academies are hands-on learning workshops on three themes. All SDState faculty, staff and graduate teaching assistants are invited. All sessions will be conducted in Pugsley 105. Participants can select any of the sessions to participate.

Applicants must complete an online form no later than April 6.

Monsanto Graduate Student Scholarship
Monsanto Company will award four $25,000 scholarships to diverse students pursuing a Master’s degree in agriculture or STEM related field. If you are enrolled or admitted in a Master of Science degree program with an emphasis in STEM and a minimum 3.0 GPA - this scholarship is for you!

Monsanto PhD Fellowship
Monsanto has made a commitment to support high achieving minority students pursuing a PhD degree in agriculture or STEM related field over the next three years. We will award up to $50,000 to each student selected.
