Planning, Design and Construction ensures that an appropriate level of stewardship for the SDSU campus physical environment and infrastructure is applied to ongoing design and development of the campus. Please see the breakout box to the left for an update on current projects.
Our staff of architects, planners, engineers, construction managers, and interior and graphic designers, integrate their specialized areas of expertise and provide project management services to ensure the delivery of projects that facilitate the University's current and futures needs as a leading academic institution.
In 1999, Facilities and Services created a new position for an Energy Conservation Engineer. This person is in charge of investigating campus energy usage and proposing energy conservation projects throughout campus. Since 1999, SDSU has invested over 5 million dollars into energy efficiency improvements.
Planning, Design and Construction does an extensive review of each new construction or remodeling project, ensuring that the project incorporates the latest technology in order to keep operational costs to minimum.

We work directly with the Procurement Office and utilize State Contracts to assure we provide our SDSU customers with the right product at the best price available. As a member of the Planning, Design and Construction team we utilize the SDSU design standards to assure that the spaces we create, the finishes we recommend and the products we select are viable solutions not only today, but well into the future.
