The Performing Arts Center Addition will relocate the music program and consolidate the theatre and dance programs into one facility to house the School of Performing Arts. Two main features of the addition are the 225 seat Recital Hall and the 850 seat Proscenium Theatre. Instructional spaces include band rehearsal, choir rehearsal, dance rehearsal, two multi-use rooms, three classrooms, 20 practice rooms. There are also new choral dressing rooms, performer green rooms, a new costume shop, and expansion of the scene shop. There is also conference room, departmental and faculty offices, new ticket and box offices, and multiple support spaces for the music and theatre programs. The addition is approximately 100,000 NSF. Site work around the facility will begin this spring and continue into the fall. Completion of construction is scheduled for December 2018 with academic functions beginning the 2019 spring semester. The project budget is $48.3 million.
