SDSU instructor of low brass, Dr. Bradley Snyder, will present a faculty recital at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 20th in Founders Recital Hall. One of the main pieces on the recital is the world premiere of Robert Traugh’s Badlands for Bass Trombone and Ableton. Badlands is the result of a consortium project led by Dr. Snyder and is meant to be representative of South Dakota’s own Badlands National Park. Other works on the program include Christopher Brubeck’s Concerto for Bass Trombone, Alexey Lebedev’s Concert Allegro, and Jan Koetsier’s Falstaffiade. Snyder will be joined by guest artist, Mr. Wade Judy of Colorado for Eric Ewazen’s Pastorale and Steven Verhelst’s Lock Horns. Dr. Snyder will be joined by SDSU faculty member Dr. Xuan Kuang on piano, and current SDSU students Hannah Hulstein (string bass) and Jesse Dodd (drum set).
The recital is free and open to the public.
