The South Dakota State Employee Health Plan offers free flu shots at designated State sponsored locations. Flu shots are available to State employees covered by the health plan along with covered spouses and/or dependent children, COBRA participants and retirees under 65. Students and Graduate Assistants not covered by the South Dakota State Employee Health Plan should contact Student Health Clinic at 605-688-4157 for information on flu shots and COVID-19 vaccine.
SDSU’s walk-in Flu Shot Clinic will be held on Wednesday, October 13 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Thursday, October 14 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Frost Arena. Detailed information, including vaccine information statement, clinic schedules, consent forms, FAQs, etc. is available.
Prior to arriving at the flu shot clinic, please print the Walk-In Flu Shot Consent form and complete all sections. Since we are unable to copy your insurance card, it is important that the health insurance section of the consent form be completed prior to the clinic. Please note, this is not a drive-through flu clinic; therefore, please bring the appropriate completed consent form with you to the clinic. Anyone with an egg allergy will be referred to their medical provider as a medical clinic is better equipped to handle a serious allergic reaction to the flu vaccine.
This year, the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine will also be offered at the SDSU Flu Shot Clinic. If employees choose to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, please print and complete the COVID-19 Consent form.
This event follows appropriate CDC guidelines for safety during this pandemic. Participants will be required to wear a face covering and maintain social distancing while receiving their vaccination(s).
With supervisor approval, employees are granted release time to attend the flu clinic.
If you are unable to attend one of the scheduled Flu Vaccination Clinics, call your local Department of Health Offices and make an appointment to receive your flu shot.
