The SDSU Alumni Association will host the Jacks Virtual 5K Race during the month of April to benefit Jack’s Cupboard. A virtual 5K race is a race that can be run or walked from any location, any day or any time during the month of April.
Participants can run, jog or walk on the road, on a trail or on a treadmill. A 5K race is 3.1 miles. Track distance in whatever way works best. There are many mobile apps to choose. Map My Run is a good distance tracking app. You can plot and measure your route before you head out the door.
There will be no official times, however participants are encouraged to share photos and race times on Facebook and Instagram using the hashtag #JacksVirtual5K and/or #JacksGiveBack to show support and encourage others to do the same.
Not on social media? Send photos and race times to the SDSU Alumni Association and it will post your photo and time.
For more information on the Jacks Virtual 5K Race and to register for the race, visit the SDSU Alumni site. Deadline to register is March 15.
