Mark Stevens, director of keyboard studies and assistant professor of piano at South Dakota State University, will present a solo recital at 7:30 p.m. April 29. The concert will take place in the Larson Memorial Concert Hall of the Oscar Larson Performing Arts Center on the SDSU campus.
The concert program, ‘[re]Vision,’ explores the ways in which modern composers grapple with and relate to piano repertoire from the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries. Stevens will showcase music from a diverse group of composers, which includes J.S. Bach, Ferruccio Busoni, Frederic Chopin, Caroline Shaw, William Grant Still and Carl Vine.
Seating for all performance activities at the Oscar Larson Performing Arts Center is limited due to the COVID-19 protocols. The concert will be livestreamed for viewing by the public using the Facebook Live platform. For a link to the concert, visit the OLPAC website.
