SDSU is a part of the NSF ASPIRE Network, which focuses on broadening institutional diversity and inclusive practices through systemic institutional change.
As part of the Network objectives in year 1, we examined over 5 years of critical data (recruitment, hiring, retention, and climate) along with implemented policies and practices. This information now allows us to consider possible and plausible changes to further empower and facilitate professional growth and development of all faculty. The ASPIRE emphasis in on STEM faculty, however, we have chosen to broaden this initiative to campus wide.
To fulfill this goal, we are excited to launch a lunchtime series called Community Dialogues. The series will start with two presentations, highlighting NSF associated work on campus, followed by two listening sessions.
We hope you will consider joining us for these virtual meetings from noon-1pm on selected Fridays.
Your perspectives and ideas would be greatly appreciated and welcomed!
