On Thursday, September 12, the SDSU Foundation will be hosting the 3rd Annual One Day for STATE, a 24-hour challenge for all Jackrabbits to join together to celebrate SDSU and the impact that can be made through private gifts.
Multiple generous donors have offered challenge funds to inspire others to join them in providing opportunities for students and faculty. This year, more than $350,000 in challenge funds are waiting to be unlocked! Gifts of all sizes make a difference, especially as we all come together to make an impact.
Get involved by becoming a Social Ambassador, a digital volunteer that helps spread the word about One Day for STATE. We provide all the content you'll need, or you can create your own. Plus, some fun prizes are up for grabs: 2 club tickets to an SDSU football game, 2 Woodbine Productions tickets, SDSU ice cream social, and more!
An on-campus patio party will be hosted outside of the Union from 11 am - 2 pm, involving students in the celebration. Coffee Power Hour will be from 9 – 10 am at Union Coffee. From 11 am - 2 pm, a Patio Party will be taking place on the Student Union Patio. This includes a free picnic lunch at 11 am to the first 500 guests and free SDSU ice cream at 1 pm.
Giving Makes Me Happy Hour is a new event this year during One Day for STATE and will be held at the SDSU Starbucks Café from 3-5 pm. Enjoy $2 grande beverages, drip coffee samples, and the chance to win prizes.
Bring your Jackrabbit friends and family to the Yellow and Blue Block Party, a community celebration happening from 5 – 8 pm that evening on the Alumni Green. Food trucks, a Pride performance, free SDSU ice cream, the Bummobile, a Jackrabbit Central pop-up shop, and tons of kid activities: it’s going to be a night to remember! Nick's Hamburger Shop, Midwest Fresh Catering, Backyard BBQ, Day of the Dead Foods, and Sweet Kettle Madness are confirmed for serving up delicious food at the event.
In order to keep our guests safe during the celebration, Parking Lot 139 will be closing at 4 pm and Medary Avenue (from 8th St. to 11th St.) will be closed from 4:30 - 8 pm that night. Detour signs will direct traffic around the road closure.
