South Dakota Art Museum is hosting a free public reception to celebrate two outstanding exhibitions: S.D. Nelson: Sharing My Vision and A Life's Work: Paul Goble Illustrations of American Indian Stories. We are pleased to welcome award-winning author and illustrator, S.D. Nelson, and Paul Goble biographer and co-curator of this retrospective Paul Goble exhibition, Gregory Bryan.

Light refreshments and hors d'oeuvres will be served from 5- 7 p.m. S.D. Nelson and Gregory Bryan will speak beginning at 5:45 p.m.

Nelson and Bryan will be available from 4- 5 p.m. to sign their books, available for purchase in the South Dakota Art Museum Store.

These two exhibitions close Sept. 15, 2019.

Parking Information

NOTE: Due to the One Day at State Block Party, Medary Ave. will be blocked off from 8th St. to 11th St. from 4:30 - 8:00. On-street parking and parking in University lots behind Scobey Hall will be open but the museum's reserved lot west of the museum on Harvey Dunn Street will only be accessible from the west (entering from 9th Ave. and Harvey Dunn St.). Handicapped parking is available on the north side of Harvey Dunn St. just west of Medary Ave. and in the Art Museum parking lot.
