Urban Native Era is a group of collective youth, inspired by the Idle No More Movement, striving to create a vision and voice for 7th generation Native America by reclaiming traditional knowledge and identity in a rapidly changing world; simultaneously redefining what it means to be indigenous and free. The Urban Native Era brand has created at tangible and meaningful way of bringing awareness to issues within Indian Country.

Joey Montoya is the Founder, CEO and Creative Director of Native Urban Era. Joey founded Native Urban Era in 2012 at the age of 18. Its branded design is now known internationally and everything that that is created by Joey and his team has cultural connection and is designed to create awareness about issues within Indian Country.
Joey Montoya is Lipan Apache from Texas, but was born and raised in San Francisco, CA. He started his own company, Urban Native Era (UNE), at the young age of 19. UNE focuses on reclaiming who we are as Indigenous people of the 21st century by showing and bringing awareness not only on our culture but issues that our Indigenous people are still facing today. He recently graduated from San Jose State University with a BS in Advertising. Now, 25, he works on uplifting Indigenous youth and issues through activism, art, and Urban Native Era.
