South Dakota Art Museum is hosting a free public artists reception to celebrate Flourish: Marjolein Dallinga & Jantje Visscher which opened February 26 and runs through August 4. Light refreshments and hors d'ouevres will be served from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. An artist talk begins at 5:45.
Jantje Visscher uses light energy as a drawing material, creating installations on the wall out of focused light and reflections. Marjolein Dallinga creates felted sculptures and wearable art of intricate pattern and rich texture and color. The drama of organic unfolding is alive in the works of both of these artists, and comes together in strikingly beautiful and surprising ways in this first ever joint exhibition, Flourish: Marjolein Dallinga & Jantje Visscher.
Parking is available without a pass in the Museum's reserved parking just west of the Museum on Harvey Dunn Street (in front of Scobey Hall) and in University lots after 4:00 p.m. Parking is also available on the street on Harvey Dunn Street. Handicapped parking is available on the north side of Harvey Dunn St. just west of Medary Ave. and in the Art Museum parking lot.
