The South Dakota State University Opera Theatre and the South Dakota State University/Civic Orchestra will perform “H.M.S. Pinafore” at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday in the Performing Arts Center’s new proscenium theater on the SDSU campus.
There is no charge for admission.
The operetta, by Gilbert and Sullivan, originally opened in London in May 1878. Taking place onboard the ship H.M.S. Pinafore, the captain’s daughter has caught the eyes, and the hearts, of two men at once: a lowly sailor and the pompous Sir Joseph Porter.
Deb Kalsbeck will also accompany the performances.
