Baritone William Sharp will hold a guest artist recital at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in Peterson Recital Hall on the South Dakota State University campus.
Sharp is in South Dakota to perform with the South Dakota Symphony’s Music Unwound program.
Known as one of the foremost interpreters of the music of Charles Ives, he has been praised by The New York Times as a “sensitive and subtle singer,” and has garnered critical acclaim for his works in recitals, operas and recordings.
His 1990 world premiere recording of Leonard Bernstein’s last major work, “Arias and Barcarolles,” won a Grammy. He has been on the faculty of the Peabody Conservatory of Music since 2002.
The concert is free and open to the public.
