Third in The Art of the Story series, our new storytelling event for kids: Adventure Stories Illustrated by Harvey Dunn.
During this 1-hour session, kids of all ages will explore stories told through Harvey Dunn paintings featured in our newest permanent collection exhibition: Harvey Dunn: Illustrations. We'll guide participants through a process of discovery using Visual Thinking Strategies, showing kids they can uncover fascinating stories and details in Harvey Dunn's adventure filled illustrations. Kids can tell us the stories they imagine these paintings depict and then we'll read excerpts from the actual stories in popular early 20th century magazines such as The Saturday Evening Post. Copies of the stories that these illustrations were created to accompany will be available in the exhibition space for eager readers of all ages to explore.
This is a free event and as always, admission to the museum is free.
Ideal for ages 4 - 12 (but adults and kids of all ages are welcome)
All children must be accompanied by an adult.
