3-in-1 South Dakota Art Museum Reception: join us from 5:00-7:00 for a free public reception to celebrate the opening of our newest exhibit, “Steve Bormes: Deep Sea Imaginarium”, and the unveiling of two exclusive Harvey Dunn offerings.
Outsider artist Steve Bormes of Sioux Falls will be on hand to discuss his whimsical “deep sea fish” that are lit from within and installed in an intimate, dark, wonder-filled, aquarium-like, immersive environment… Bormes’s “deep-sea imaginarium.” This also serves as the launch reception for the new Harvey Dunn “Red Cross” giclée print and a newly reprinted Harvey Dunn coffee table book by the late Robert F. Karolevitz.
5:45 will be a short talk by Phyllis Karolevitz followed by Steve Bormes. Light hors d'oeuvres and refreshments. 1036 Medary Avenue. Parking in museum’s new free lot west of the museum on Harvey Dunn St. and in university lots after 4:00 and on street. Admission to the museum is always free.
“Steve Bormes: Deep Sea Imaginarium” is open at the South Dakota Art Museum through December 5, 2017 - April 7, 2018. Admission to the museum is free.
