Emergency Management, through the Emergency Management Team, coordinates emergency preparedness efforts including planning, prevention, response and recovery for the university and oversees the university’s Emergency Management Plan.

UPD focuses on the needs of the university community, including being responsive to expectations for the safety and security of students, faculty and staff.

Environmental Health and Safety provides services to support a safe working environment in compliance with applicable federal, state and local safety and environmental regulations.

Risk Management supports preparedness with risk loss services and planning for SDSU operations.

The university is committed to keeping the campus community informed during emergencies and situations that might disrupt normal operations. The university posts updates when there is an active alert, and the university issues timely warnings when a situation arises that constitutes a Clery Act crime within the Clery Act crime within the Clery Geography of the university.

The annual Security and Fire Safety Report provides information so members of the community can make informed decisions about their safety.
