Shane Carlson received a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from South Dakota State University in 2006. Shane was an engineering student at Daktronics prior to graduation. Upon graduation, he continued his career at Daktronics as a hardware design engineer in the Commercial Products division.
Shane has been involved in the design of numerous components and systems at Daktronics ranging from video players to LED panels. He is currently the chairman of an internal technical advisory group for display technologies. He has recently been involved in developing processes and test standards for lifetime reliability of many of the components used in display technologies.
Shane has been involved with hardware design students at Daktronics as a mentor and supervisor since 2008. He has also had the privilege of participating in judging senior design at SDSU for most of the engineering expos since he graduated.
