Dr. Carrie Hruska is a Medical Physicist in the Department of Radiology at Mayo Clinic.
Carrie is a native of Madison, SD, and graduated from SDSU in 2002 with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, where she developed an early interest in image processing and medical devices. After obtaining her Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering at the Mayo Clinic in 2007, Carrie has since been actively conducting medical imaging research at Mayo, with particular interest in the development and evaluation of new breast imaging technologies. Carrie is currently the recipient of a Career Development Award from the National Institutes of health, which supports her research to study imaging biomarkers in breast tissue that may predict future development of breast cancer.
Carrie lives near Rochester, MN, with her husband Tim (SDSU alumnus, Civil Engineering 2001) and their 2 children.
