Why did you choose to attend SDSU?
SDSU had the reputation and selection of courses that I was looking for. I knew that I wanted to apply to physical therapy school eventually, but I was undecided what my undergraduate degree would be in. I had ample options at SDSU and settled on a major that suited my career goals, personality, and interests.
What has been your most interesting class, and what about it did you enjoy?
Human Anatomy has been my favorite class at SDSU. Dr. Pederson made it both challenging and interesting. Since the students here at SDSU have access to human cadavers and an internship program, I have a leg up on other students who are applying to professional school.
Who has inspired you the most at SDSU and in what way?
My advisors have played one of the largest roles in inspiring me to be the best I can be at my future profession. It is motivating for me to see how passionate they are at teaching the material, and it makes me excited and passionate about learning from them and applying it.
What is your favorite or most memorable SDSU experience?
Although I have participated in many programs here at SDSU, some of my favorite experiences come from the pre-professional science club on campus. We took graduate school trips and participated in many volunteer organizations. It was nice to build relationships, connections, and my resume all at the same time.
Where do you see yourself in the future/10 years?
I am naturally ambitious, so my goal is to be a physical therapist for a team in the NFL. If I am not doing that in 10 years, I will probably own my own private physical therapy clinic specializing in sports rehabilitation.
What piece of advice would you give new students?
Be present and enjoy every moment. College will be some of the best years of your life, so get involved in student organizations, study hard, and don’t forget to enjoy yourself along the way.
