The View account page now lists all your created content, including your profile. Click the (Edit) link to edit your profile right away, or click your name to view your profile. Skip step 6 if you clicked the (Edit) link.
Once viewing your profile page, click the “Edit” button in the upper right hand side of your profile page.
You should now see the edit form for your profile.
Information from InsideState should be populated to grayed out fields on the page. This is contact information pulled from InsideState, and approved by HR. In order to edit this information, click the "Edit Contact Information on InsideState" button. There is an approval process, and after that completes, your information should automatically be pulled into your public profile. This includes any name or email update.
For biographical and work information, the fields are editable. Updating the information in these fields is an excellent way to connect with the broader campus community, as well as get your name out there associated to any research projects you are doing, and to promote your professional sites on your profile by linking them.
It’s vital you select a "Profile Heading" as that will tag you to the “Our People” pages under the heading you choose.
If you are unsure what to set for a profile heading, take a look at your primary department's our people page and see what your colleagues are using, and assign yourself appropriately. You can also contact your department web editors for help.
If you choose to include a portfolio or website within your profile, be sure to include http:// or https:// at the start of url e.g: http://www.sdstate.edu.
Any contact information updates can take anywhere from 1 to 2 business days.
