Doug Hajek

Doug is a banking lawyer and partner at Davenport Evans in Sioux Falls. He earned his B.S. from South Dakota State University, his M.A. from the University of Northern Colorado and his J.D. from the University of South Dakota. In 1972, Doug began a 10-year career in banking. First, in Rapid City, as a commercial lender with US Bank. Then he was in Minneapolis managing the company’s system-wide commercial loan participation pool. Finally, he was in Sioux Falls managing Western Bank’s mortgage banking operation. In 1980, Doug had a front-row seat to the development of usury legislation and Citibank’s decision to move its credit card business to South Dakota.
